ANDREW FISHER, CFA, CPA
President
Andrew is our President and Chief Investment Officer. Andrew enjoys significant personal rewards from helping clients to navigate global investment markets and to make wise financial decisions, drawing on his broad experience in finance and investing. He believes strongly in Maxim's role as an independent fiduciary to our clients.
Andrew has worked in international finance and investing since 1994. Prior to founding Maxim, he was Senior Portfolio Manager at Chinook Capital Management in Portland, Oregon. Andrew previously worked as an international stock research analyst at mutual fund company Montgomery Asset Management in San Francisco, as well as at HSBC Securities and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (now Credit Suisse) in New York City. He began his career as a consultant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
In addition to his role as wealth manager, Andrew enjoys staying involved with entrepreneurial companies through mentoring on issues ranging from corporate strategy, financial management and forecasting, capital fundraising and mergers & acquisitions. He has acted as CFO, Boardmember and fundraising / M&A advisor to numerous firms including: Octago Software, Advanced Telcom Group (ATG), Oregon Telecom, and Technocom Inc.
Andrew graduated Cum Laude from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, with a degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish. He holds the highest industry credentials including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and serves on the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of Portland. Andrew has a life-long passion for international culture and languages; he is fluent in Spanish and has taken part in foreign exchange programs in Spain and Mexico. Andrew lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two children.
